SUPPLY LIST for FRENCH HORN

Instrument – School will supply, please complete the Brass Loan Form found in the Band Handbook.

Label – Include first and last name, school, and contact phone # – (Luggage tags work well)

Rotor Oil – Hetman 11, and Slide Grease – Hetman Slide Gel

Horn students need to be careful about using the correct oil — it is different from all other brass oils!

*If you are purchasing your own mouthpiece, I recommend a Holton Farkas, either H2850DC, or H2850MC. It is pricey but it’ll last forever, and with instruments, you get what you pay for. If you buy a cheap mouthpiece it will directly impact your student’s enjoyment of playing — making it more challenging and difficult than it needs to be! The school has mouthpieces to loan, but if you’d like to purchase your own that is great, too.

Soft cloth for wiping down instrument (piece of an old t-shirt works great)

Pencil

Black Binder  (.5 or 1-inch)

15 – 20 clear protective sheets
